Evening Rush Hour

Living in a big city has its benefits, and it has its challenges. One of the challenges we all face is the evening rush home. It seems as though “rush hour” is creeping earlier and earlier every year… and extending later and later as well.

Here is the scene on your average evening rush to Union Station for commuters in Toronto.

    1. Thanks so much!

I’m lucky in that I am able to bike to work for a solid chunk of the year, and my commute is usually no more than thirty minutes, but I don’t know how many of the out-of-towners do it.

  1. I have lived in the So. California area. They have set the standards for Rush Hour traffic—with cars.

I surprised me to see all those people in their Rush Hour. It is a great shot and makes us think—What are we doing? lol

    1. Hey Frank, thanks for the comment. I’ve heard about the infamous Cali rush hours. Yowzers!

I really don’t know what we’re all doing, shortening our lives? Giving ourselves health issues due to stress?

      It’s crazy.

    1. Thanks Tim,

It’s definitely not my favorite time of day, so I try to avoid it at all costs.

I took it a year or so ago as my first test shot to see how my camera handled night photography. Not really knowing what I was doing, I rattled off a few shots, but I ended up liking this one.

  2. Shane, for just firing off a few test shots, you managed to capture beautifully exactly how I feel about rush hour, which I don’t think is appropriate for me to share on your wonderful blog ๐Ÿ˜‰ Great photo! Cheers to more wide open spaces in life!
